This restaurant is in the old Blue Sushi space in downtown Ft Myers. Quite a different look to it which I think is a good thing. We got there right at 5pm for our 5:30 reservation and the place was pretty empty. A couple at a table and another 4 people at the bar. Which makes me wonder about our 5:30 reservation. When my wife called to make reservations, she originally asked for 5pm. That wasn’t available according to the person at the restaurant. How about 5:15 my wife asked. The restaurant countered with how about 5:30. OK, my wife said. We wanted 5pm because we were going to a play at the Arcade Theater at 7pm and didn’t want to rush our dinner. So we get to the restaurant at 5pm and ask if we’re too early to be seated. The hostess said no problem and seated us right away at a table in an almost completely empty restaurant! I’d like to know what was all that negotiating for a reservation time that we wanted at 5pm, but had to be put at 5:30pm? I don’t get it? Why? Our server was with us as soon as we sat down.

The concept of this restaurant is supposed to be Japanese Italian Fusion. You can check out their menu with this link. So, for appetizers, we ordered Gyoza Dumplings which are dumplings stuffed with Italian Sausage. Very good! And we also ordered a Sushi roll called a Dynamite Crab Roll. Also, very good!

When the Dumplings are brought to the table, they arrive in a bowl dry, then broth from a separate pot is poured over them for a nice table side presentation. After the food runner left, we were wondering how, or even if, we were supposed to eat the broth. When the server came by, we asked about that, and she said yes you should eat the broth. We then asked for some spoons. It would be hard to eat the broth with chopsticks or a fork! And if you’re sharing, its ok between you and your spouse, but it could be awkward with other people. We put some broth on our side plates and when everybody was done, I volunteered to pick up the slack and grabbed the bowl and ate some more broth. It was good!
For our main courses, I ordered the Truffle Sesame Carbonara, my wife ordered the Okinawan Chicken Parm and our guest ordered the Caramelized Meatball. We also order a side of crispy potatoes.

Everything was really good! My only suggestion would be to heat up the pork belly on my dish a little bit because the chunks were extremely hard. When I reheated my leftovers in the microwave the next day, they were perfect! We finished our meal with a Caramel Tiramisu. Tasty! They have steaks, a pork chop, a half chicken and fish entrees to round out the menu. Something for everyone in my opinion. You should check them out. Good luck with the reservations! 🙂
