Here’s a nice little coffee, pastry and breakfast shop not too far away going east down 80. It’s nice to turn right on 80 and drive somewhere without all the crazy traffic. Our niece from Las Vegas came into town, so one morning for breakfast we drove here for that “farm to table” experience. A lot of the food items made here are made from items on the farm. Our plates were garnished with slices of starfruit. They have a starfruit plant on the farm and got to pick a starfruit when driven around on a tractor/hay ride. The sell honey from the farm and a bunch of other food items. One time I had a breakfast sandwich on a homemade biscuit. That was the biggest, best biscuit I’ve had in a long time. The next time I went in I had a breakfast sandwich on a croissant. That was huge and could easily be split between two people. The donuts look fantastic. My Niece had a chicken salad sandwich, and again, so big it could be split among two people. Here’s a link to there website. Be careful to look at the hours. They are not always open. Its a little past the turnoff for the Alva Post Office. Not too far. If the chickens are laying eggs, they let you gather your own! Fun for the kids. They make loaves of bread and whole cake desserts for sale.
