Questions, Suggestions and 2 Polls about our upcoming Amenity Center turnover
I’m just a resident like everyone else here, so none of what I’ll be saying here is official. As a matter of fact some may classify it as gossip. But I do have opinions, so here we go! I was on the Amenity Center board in 2022, but resigned after the pool heating plan was rejected by the developer’s lawyers. I also thought there was a lack of energy amongst the Amenity Center staff that was in charge of running activities.
If there is a Turnover Committee out there I think it would be nice if they started communicating a little bit about what’s going on, if anything!
Let me describe the details about the following poll that answers the question “What should happen to the Amenity Center?”
Option 1
I think option 1 is the best option. It resolves the problem where some people don’t want to have anything to do with the amenity center and those that want to use the amenity center. We also wouldn’t have to buy the amenity center. The developer could keep it as a business or he could sell it to a third party to run as a business. If a third party takes it over, there has to be a stipulation that it is only open to Country Club and Hampton Lakes residents and not open to the general public. This option also resolves the asking price of the amenity center since it would only be worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Plus, we wouldn’t have to worry about where the fee money is going to. The owner can spend it however they wish keeping in mind they now have to be concerned about customer service and upkeep. Wouldn’t it be great if staff had to worry about customer satisfaction?! Instead of here it is, take it or leave it!
Option 2
This option continues operating the Amenity Center HOA just like it is today. Both communities HAVE to be members. We’ll have to pay attention to the money, or we’ll have to raise fees. The amenity center would need its own HOA manager and assistant manager. These two should be able to handle most of the day to day operations. No more employees being paid through the golf course. If they need more employees, hire them outright. No more money transfers to the golf course for personnel. If we don’t buy it out right, we might have to take out a loan. Or maybe the developer will be a benevolent developer and sell it to us for $1. Wouldn’t that be nice? Probably not gonna happen!
Option 3
I have heard some gossip about Country Club residents not wanting to be a part of Amenity Center and that this group wants to pull out of the Amenity Center HOA agreement. I guess if you pay lawyers the right amount of money anything can happen. The Country Club side has their own restaurant, heated pool and Bunker Bar, but they won’t have access to the tennis, bocce and pickle ball courts. Nor would they be allowed into the Amenity Center itself for any of the activities that go on in there. That’s why I think Option 1 is the best. Basically, everybody gets what they want! But let’s say the Country Club people vote and move to get out of the Amenity Center HOA. I don’t think they should be totally off the hook money wise. I think they should be made to pay some kind of buyout penalty.
Speaking of the Country Club people and whether they want in or out of the Amenity Center, why don’t we take a poll of that? So if you are a Country Club resident, please take the time to answer the following poll.
Please note: These are informal polls and there is nothing binding about them. Its just to give the turnover people (whoever they are) some info on what the residents are thinking. This is the first time I’m putting a poll in one of my posts. So I hope it works! You should be able to see the results as they come in, so check back often. The polls will be open for 3 days. Thanks!
