We’ve never had a bad meal or experience at this restaurant. One time a few years ago we had an inattentive waiter that left dirty dishes on other tables around us during a very slow lunch and spent a lot of time yukking it up with other non-busy wait staff in a distant corner of the dining room. But that was a minor problem, our food was great! But I bet he doesn’t work there anymore! This night there was four of us in our party and we arrived about 20 minutes before our reservation that was at 6pm. This was a Thursday night and kind of early so we thought there wouldn’t be a wait because it wouldn’t be crowded. The place was packed! We asked what was going on and the staff said “nothing. this is normal!” Wow! Its great dining in a busy restaurant with all the energy and hustle and bustle. It makes for good people watching too!
So we did have to wait for our table and got seated right at 6pm. I walked in to the main dining room about 10 minutes before that and as I thought, there were several empty tables. I don’t know why, but they seem to like to make you wait a little while even if there are empty tables. I’m sure there’s a logical reason behind it, like their reservation system puts you at a certain table and that’s the table you get even if there are other ones open. Anyway, again its minor. We were in good company and were enjoying ourselves, so no big deal.
We ordered drinks and an Caprese Flatbread appetizer. This is a “winery”, but only one glass of wine was ordered! I had an Old Fashion, my wife had a Paloma and I don’t know what the other drink was, but they were all good. The flatbread was excellent!

Next up were our entrees. I seem to be stuck on ordering the Parmesan Encrusted Chicken, which is always good. My wife seems to be stuck on Braised Short Ribs which she enjoyed. Another entree was the Blackened Ahi Tuna and the last a vegetable risotto. All good!

Next up was dessert and I’m a sucker for the Chocolate Truffles with matching dessert wines. My wife ordered the chocolate cake. The truffles were chilled, so they were kind of hard to cut with a fork and knife, so I just picked them up and bit down. All good! Its amazing how each one went perfectly with the matching wine. I tried each one with the two other different wines and they didn’t go well at all. But with the matching wine, perfect!

I highly recommend Cooper’s Hawk. Here’s a link to their website. They are located on Six Mile Cypress just south of Daniel’s Parkway.
