This is the second time I’ve eaten at this place and its all good! The first time I was here I had the Paella and it was great! A little messy because I like to get in there with my hands and take the mussels out of the shells and this also had a split lobster tail that I had to wrestle with a little bit. But its all good. I liked it! This time I tried something different. We went with two other couples on a Thursday night and got there around 5:30pm with an half hour left in happy hour. There were some drink and appetizer specials going on. I got a gin martini from the well and there were wines and other drinks being ordered. We ordered calamari and the Brussel sprouts appetizer to share.
Here’s a side note. My wife and I celebrated our 49th wedding anniversary the next day and went to Harold’s, a very expensive place. The plating of the food here at Blue Pointe was ten times better than the plating at Harold’s and Harold’s is twice the price. You eat with your eyes and that first impression is everything. Harold’s needs to update their plating game! OK, here we go.
That’s my Shrimp Scampi Linguini upper left. Upper right is my wife’s Shrimp and Scallop Risotto. Lower left is the Rare Tuna and lower right is a Chicken Breast of some sort. I checked the menu and it says the Chicken Breast comes with mashed potatoes, but that looks like a giant ravioli. There was another tuna and another scampi, but they looked exactly the same. Which is a good thing because you want consistency in your dishes. And look how beautiful they look! I’m going to show you Harold’s dishes below.

Here’s a look at the way Harold’s plated their entrees. Now don’t get me wrong. Harold’s food was excellent. That’s Wild Columbia River King Salmon and a big, beautiful Veal Chop. The veal chop had some gnocchi on the plate with a cup of gravy. My salmon had rice pilaf and some barely cooked broccoli rabe. I couldn’t eat the stems because they were way too hard. But anyway, kind of simple plating and at twice the price you’d expect more. I will review Harold’s in another post.

So I highly recommend Blue Pointe. The only problem we had, as old people, is that the only tables that can handle more than 4 are high tops. They have booths that seat 2 or 4 people comfortably. If you want to check out their website, click here. If you’re in to happy hour and eating early they’ve got some nice specials. There are a lot of nice restaurants in Bell Tower Plaza. We will have to try the Irish place next. Anyway, when your done eating, you can go shopping at Costco across the street! One of our couples did! See you around town!
