I’m kind of a rule follower from way back. I went to a Catholic military school back in the 60s, so that explains that! From just walking around the neighborhood I think these are some of the most common violations :
Garbage cans stored outside. They should be inside.
Basketball nets left outside all night. They should be moved inside at night.
Cars blocking the sidewalk. This is a tough one. If a family has a lot of cars, what are you going to do? Luckily, my house is on the side of the street that doesn’t have a sidewalk! But we get our 2 cars in the garage anyway, so that would not have been a problem for us. Maybe people should be allowed to block from 10pm to 7 or 8am. When kids and people are walking from 7 to 10 the sidewalks should be clear so they don’t have to go into the street. Safety first!
Dog poop not cleaned up. Doesn’t happen often, but I have seen it. Watch out! Ewwwwe!
Is everybody going through the design review committee for outside updates to their property? I hope so! I see some things happening in backyards that are interesting.
I don’t know if there is any active rule enforcement by the authorities, but I think that would be coming soon. Remember to just smile, say “sure” and rectify the problem. No hard feelings.
