Restaurant Review – Ft Myers, Florida

My wife and I went out with friends to Ginger Bistro for some Chinese food. Our friends had been there a few times and thought it was good enough to recommend to friends and it certainly was! We got there at 6pm on a Saturday night and had to wait about 20 minutes for a table to open up. They have lots of tables so the place was really crowded. That’s a good sign! When we finally got seated we were sat close to a wall that had a window through which you could see some of the BBQ, like cooked ducks and slabs of ribs.

That’s what I was there for, some BBQ. I chose Duck and Pork Belly. My wife had the Mongolian Beef. So did the wife of the other couple we were with. Her husband ordered Kung Po Chicken. For appetizers I ordered a Dim Sum platter and they ordered egg rolls. Everything was thouroughly enjoyed. When my BBQ platter arrived I wish I had a knife. The Roasted Duck was chopped up in small pieces, but the bones were still in it. So I picked it up with my fingers and ate it that way. So while I was at it, I picked up the pork belly with my fingers and ate it that way too. The pork belly was in too big of pieces to be stuffed in my mouth, chew and swallow. So I played it safe and bit each piece in half and enjoyed it that way. My fingers were really greasy at the end of the meal. A knife would have been nice. Maybe next time! But next time I’m going to get the Mongolian Beef. That was delicious with a nice spiciness to it! My wife will have to get the cashew chicken, which is one of her favorites. They have a huge menu.
