Restaurant Review – Cooper’s Hawk Ft. Myers #2

My wife and I went back to Cooper’s Hawk Winery after visiting last month and joining the club. We went with friends and everybody had a good time. The place was packed on a Friday night, so we stopped for a tasting in the tasting room. They found us for our 6:30 reservation at 6:40, but like I said it was packed, so a little wait is understandable. Also, there wasn’t a parking spot left around the building, so we had to drive around a few times to get a spot.

For starters, we got the Southwest Egg Rolls and they got the shrimp wrapped in bacon atop avocado puree, Both were outstanding! The three sauce that came with the egg rolls were completely different from each other, but went so well with the egg rolls. The slaw that came with it was delicious. I had a cup of the Lobster Bisque and that was good. It was the hottest bowl of soup I ever had. Even though it took me a while to get my soup, I think it was still boiling in the cup when it arrived! Which was two minutes before the entrees arrived! All good! When you’re having fun those little types of things don’t bother you!

So everything was delicious! My Short Ribs were tender and delicious. The Sauce and mashed potatoes were perfect. The charred veggies were almost a little too charred and were rather crunchy. There was a lot of food, so I ended up taking some home because I wanted to save room for dessert. My wife had the Shrimp Scampi and she enjoyed it. Our dining companions loved their dishes too which included a Asian Tuna Salad and the other person had the Wedge Salad, which looked real good.

All in all, I think Cooper’s Hawk Winery is a great place to eat. I love the vibe! Its like I’m back in downtown Chicago at a new, hip and happening place where the beautiful people hang out! (That’s why they kick me out of Chicago!)
